Transnistria wants to be independent. True, the concept of sovereignty in an unrecognized republic is interpreted in a very unique way. More than 90% of those who voted were in favor of independence and union with Russia. Only 2% were in favor of unification with Moldova, and 4% were unable to make any clear decision. Neither Moldova nor the European Union recognize the voting results. But for Transnistria this fact is not so important. After all, the republic will only enter into an alliance with Russia, and there are no problems with legitimizing the referendum.
