Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov said during a meeting of the Moscow government on Tuesday that tolerance and respect for other nationalities must be “taught” in school. That is, simply telling children about the peoples inhabiting Russia, their history, perhaps teaching the basics of Islam, Judaism and other faiths. Not to “convert”, but to inform. The idea is correct in all respects: only if they say one thing at school, another on TV, and another in the family, there will be no more sense than scientific communism in Soviet universities.
