In addition to 18-year-old Alexandra Dukhanina, detained on suspicion of inciting riots and committing violence against government officials on May 6 on Bolotnaya Square, two more names of suspects have been named in connection with the same events.

On the evening of May 28, unemployed Andrei Barabanov and previously convicted businessman Maxim Luzyanin, co-owner of a restaurant in the Moscow region and several enterprises in Moscow, were detained. As Gazeta.Ru reports, they are suspected of using violence against police officers and of involvement in mass riots, both in participating in them and in organizing them. It was on the evening of May 28 that a new case was opened - no longer about calling for mass riots, but about their organization, which may entail more severe punishment. The cases were combined into one proceeding.

Dukhanina is accused, in particular, of throwing pieces of asphalt at riot police. Barabanov and Luzyanin allegedly took part in breaking the cordon, punched and kicked police officers, and even “used choking techniques.” There is a suspicion that the investigators got something mixed up - our specialists in chokeholds are the police.

Most likely there will be new arrests in this case. Gazeta.Ru's source in law enforcement agencies reported that about a hundred people are involved in the investigation and are studying video recordings from Bolotnaya.

Gazeta.Ru cites the opinion of Ramil Akhmetgaliev, a lawyer for the human rights organization Agora, who argues that what happened on Bolotnaya cannot be interpreted as mass riots, but only as clashes with the police, so talking about the organizers is inappropriate.

As for Dukhanina, the Basmanny Court, chaired by Natalia Durari, decided to put her under house arrest until July 6.
