The Center for Information and Analytical Technologies, established by decree of the Moscow government and the administration of the Moscow region and existing in the capital for twenty years, will check all printed, audio and video materials for extremism starting next year.
Interfax reported this on July 7, citing a source in the city administration. According to the agency’s interlocutor, such an order was signed by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
From January 1, 2012, all text products will be subjected to special psychological and linguistic studies to find out whether they contain signs of extremism. Materials that incite ethnic hatred and enmity will be removed from the Internet (the agency reports that the authorities have already agreed on this with providers). The police (apparently with the help of the mentioned center) will identify persons involved in the creation of extremist sites.
