The cover of Paper magazine with a naked Kim Kardashian caused a series of parodies and photoshoots on social networks
On November 12, the American magazine Paper published the cover of its winter issue: its main star was TV personality Kim Kardashian, posing naked and with a glass of champagne. The issue came out with the headline “Breaking the Internet,” and this really happened: Western social network users rushed to discuss the provocative cover and draw photoshopped images on it.
New York magazine Paper exists as a website and a paper version, which has eight issues per year. For its winter issue, Paper featured famous reality TV star Kim Kardashian, wife of rapper Kanye West, on the cover.
According to representatives of the magazine, their goal for this winter issue was to “break the Internet,” and Kardashian was the best person for this. “This pop culture allure can generate headlines just by stepping out of the house. Kim is what makes the Internet tick like a clock,” noted Paper.
Kardashian was photographed for the magazine by photographer Jean-Paul Goude, famous for his provocative photo shoots. Especially for Paper, he recreated his work “ Champagne Trick ”, where a dark-skinned girl pours wine into a glass standing behind her.
But that’s not all: according to the authors of Paper, on Thursday, November 18, they will show all the other pictures from Kardashian’s scandalous photo shoot. “All we can say about them is holy fucking shit,” the magazine’s representatives intrigued readers.
There is no doubt that Kardashian “broke the Internet.” Social media users reacted vividly with dozens of photoshopped images and even launched a special hashtag #BreakTheInternet on Twitter.
Kardashian herself was one of the first to speak out, hinting that she is not as mediocre as is commonly believed.
And they say I didn't have a talent...try balancing a champagne glass on your ass LOL #BreakTheInternet #PaperMagazine

Some felt that the photo shoot was too racist.

Brands also joined the general hysteria. Wine producer JC Le Roux tried to convince his readers that it was his bottle of champagne that the TV personality was holding in his hands.

Reddit also took part in the creation of photoshopped images.
Redditors suggested what Kardashian looked like before Photoshopping.
In October, Kardashian showed that she is capable of being a star not only in secular magazines, but also in the IT world. On October 27, she spoke at the Code/mobile conference, talking about her work, her favorite BlackBerry phone, and her use of social networks. Her mobile game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood brings in about $700,000 a day, according to Bloomberg estimates.
In September, Kardashian already appeared naked due to the fault of hackers who published archives of personal photos of Hollywood stars. The TV personality was captured in front of a mirror with a BlackBerry phone.
In July, a story similar to #BreakTheInternet occurred with the cover of the single “Anaconda” by singer Nicki Minaj. Her butt turned into a real meme, which gave rise to many parodies, jokes and photoshopped images. itself However, the clip is no less amazing.
