The world's media spread a fake quote from Vin Diesel about the death of Paul Walker
Vin Diesel's representative told the Associated Press that the actor's phrase about the death of his friend and colleague Paul Walker, distributed by the press on December 1, is not real. This was reported by Yahoo News .

The text was published by the accounts therealvindiesel on Instagram and @REAL_VinDiesel on Twitter a few hours after it became known that Paul Walker had died in a car accident.
Brother, I will miss you very much. I have no words. There is one more angel in heaven. Rest in peace. therealvindiesel
Diesel's agent said that both accounts are not related to the actor or his official representatives. His real statement about the death of a friend was published on a verified Facebook page .
“Living in the hearts of those you leave behind is not death.”
Thomas Campbell.
Pablo, I wish you could see the world now... and the profound impact your life has had on it... on us... on me...
I will always love you, Brian, like the brother you were to me... on and off screen.
According to Mediabistro , the Associated Press agency, which disseminated the false information, apologized. In turn, both fake Vin Diesel accounts were removed from Twitter and Instagram.
Reputable world media used the phrase of the false Diesel in their headlines. For example, the Variety portal reported that the actor “has no words” about the death of his colleague. The original version of the article is preserved on IMDB .
Later, the headline was corrected , and the news was supplemented with appropriate edits.
The quote was also published by such publications as Daily Mail , Fox News , Chicago Tribune , TIME and hundreds of others. At the time of writing, the texts of many of them still include a photo from Diesel’s fake Instagram.
The phrase of the false Diesel was also quoted by the majority of Russian media that published news on this topic.

At the same time, a “canard” was launched on social networks that Walker’s body was not found in the car, and he was hiding from loved ones and relatives. For the sake of “authenticity,” many of the entries were accompanied by photographs of newspapers in exotic languages, which actually reported the death of the actor.
Hoaxes about Walker were also picked up by some Russian websites. A post by the gaming portal “Kanobu” on this topic received almost a million views in four days.
The head of Kanobu, Gadzhi Makhtiev, openly informed his Twitter readers that such materials are published in pursuit of traffic.

@zombak hey, why are you confusing warm with soft? The article does not claim to be a Pulitzer. For me this is purely a traffic case. I keep an eye on him.

On the evening of December 4, the American tabloid TMZ reported that the bodies of Paul Walker and Roger Rodagas, who crashed in a car on November 30, were identified by dental x-rays: other identification methods were unsuccessful, since both were badly burned. At the same time, Universal studio announced the termination of work on the film “Fast and Furious 7,” in which Walker played one of the main roles, but did not have time to finish filming. The painting has been frozen indefinitely.
