Announcing the launch of the project, Yuri Grymov said that the development took two years, but did not specify what role he himself plays in the project. The website states that the creation was carried out by the “ Yuri Grymov Studio ”.

Judging by the project’s website, it is both a search engine and an “Orthodox social network,” although you cannot add other users as friends on it. Explaining the need to create a separate project on the topic of Orthodoxy, the authors of Rublev compare religion with cinema: “Why look for movies on Yandex? For this there is the KinoPoisk website.” In October 2013, Yandex announced the purchase of KinoPoisk.

When you enter popular queries, Rublev can redirect you to the desired page. For example, when searching for [porn], the site takes you to the page of the eighth commandment, “Thou shalt not commit adultery,” and the query [sex] talks about the vice of passion .

The interface of the main page of "Rublev" copies "Yandex": the logo is to the left of the search line, highlighted by a frame, the search has its own subsections ("Prayers", "Temples", "Monasteries" and so on) in the form of a catalog, and even the virtual keyboard is integrated in a manner similar to Yandex.

However, in addition to search services, Rublev also offers its own media. The site publishes news from the world of Orthodoxy, interviews, and religious ministers and church leaders maintain their blogs there.

Rublev also offers a whole range of services for users. On the main page there is a countdown of the days until Easter, the site helps to congratulate loved ones on Orthodox holidays, in a special section you can ask a question to a priest, and in the “School of Faith” you can read the scriptures. There is no mention of any paid functions, but visitors can support the project by purchasing a calendar for a thousand rubles or a diary for 3.5 thousand rubles.

Registered users can use the site “without restrictions,” the letter states upon registration—for example, leave comments, but they appear on the site only after moderation. When entering information about a new user, the site prompts you to indicate your ICQ, parish, and Instagram account.

The Rublev search engine will also exist as a mobile application for iOS and Android. To create it, the company is collecting 1 million rubles through the crowdfunding site “ Nachaniye.ru ”.

Despite the choice of not the most popular platform, judging by the project page, more than 30 thousand rubles have already been donated from more than a hundred people for the development of the application. Despite the fact that Rublev is still raising money to launch a mobile version, the description of the application talks about it as if it had already been created.

The Rublev application allows you to get instant access through your mobile phone to a huge database of temples, monasteries, icons, saints, and holidays of the Rublev search engine. You can take a photo of the temple and send it through the application to the Rublev database. A promising tool is the development of the “Service of the Day” tool - texts of services for every day, so that believers in the church can follow the progress of the service and understand what is being read and sung.

On February 2, Grymov gave an interview to the Vera radio station, in which he also talked about the upcoming launch of the search engine. The director admitted that now he cannot “get a button from a federal TV channel,” but on the Internet it is possible to do “program layout” in the same way, especially since delivering content is cheaper than on TV.

According to Grymov, there is no short explanation for choosing the name of the site.

There is no such direct answer as to why. Firstly, it is clear that we are talking about an artist who was later canonized. […] Secondly, I like it - this is one of my favorite films by Tarkovsky - the film “Andrei Rublev”. Well, and then, it seems to me that this is a very capacious, collective word. Because a person, from an artist, from some kind of artisan, relatively speaking, came to such a concept as holiness. Both myself and from people. But to say that there is some global meaning in this name - you know, I don’t think it matters much what it’s called. This is not the most important thing, believe me.

According to Grymov, Rublev is not an alternative to Facebook or VKontakte, since there is no goal to “drive” users into the new social network. However, among the reasons for creating a separate site, he also names too long a reaction time for “VKontakte service operators”: in his opinion, on Rublev, moderators will not allow “scoundrels” to appear, although he expects their “attacks” no earlier than in 8 -9 months.

According to the director, the idea of ​​​​creating the Rublev website belongs to himself and his friends. Recalling an open letter to Putin, Medvedev and Medinsky published in September 2012 about the need to support domestic cinema (providing it with a 40% quota at the box office, obliging TV channels to contribute 5-15% of turnover to its creation, and so on), Grymov said that he does not often “call back with Vladimir Vladimirovich."

In April 2013, Grymov was appointed to the position of general producer of Dozhd: in this post he was responsible for program content and film policy, image and corporate style of the channel. In November of the same year, the director left the channel, starting to create three “Slow TV” channels in Europe at once - “meditative television for psychological relief.”

Over the years, Grymov worked as the creative director of MTS, was involved in the design of the cross-program space of the ORT, RTR, Ren-TV television channels, and created corporate styles for the Bolshoi Theater, Rambler and RAO UES. In 2003, he became a laureate of the Russian Presidential Prize in the field of education.
