Today, October 5, in Moscow, at the age of 97, the theater director, actor and teacher, founder of the Taganka theater, Yuri Lyubimov, died.

This was reported by Interfax with reference to a source in the Botkin hospital, where he was taken in serious condition on Thursday, October 2. “Despite the conduct of intensive complex therapy, the use of the most modern diagnostic measures, Yuri Petrovich died at the 98th year of his life,” the hospital said.

Yuri Petrovich Lyubimov was born on September 30, 1917 in Yaroslavl, since the beginning of the 1920s he lived in Moscow, in 1934 he was admitted to the studio at the Moscow Art Theater 2, on the stage of which he played his first role in 1935.
