Dear friends! Muscovites!

I am contacting you on the eve of the elections to the Moscow City Duma. This appeal is not planned, emergency, extraordinary. Because on the eve of the elections in Moscow there were emergency circumstances.

I am sure that you understand well what is happening in Moscow and in the country as a whole: not only the fate of freedom and democracy is already put on the end. It is already about whether the country can withstand the onset of nationalism, whether we can all - civilized and reasonable citizens - to prevent the war that the Nazis declare to their people. Because the authorities are not able to cope with this threat. The federal government, obviously, does not understand what dangerous games it involves the country, and openly concesses the growth of nationalism. And the city authorities, even if they understand this, are now limp and powerless.

At first, the Moscow authorities - both the mayor of Moscow and the deputies - as silent lambs, dutifully agreed that the supreme power was taking away the right to choose their mayor from Muscovites. Now the mayor will appoint the president. Moreover, now the president has the right to dissolve the Moscow City Duma if she suddenly does not agree to approve the presidential appointment.

Then the party in the authorities decided to use Luzhkov as a political “steam locomotive” in order to call into the City Duma on it and then send it to retirement. Obviously, the Kremlin is not going to appoint Luzhkova, and therefore the Luzhkovskaya team is scattered through the regions, and Elena Baturina sells her business in Moscow.

And finally ... And this, in my opinion, is simply incomprehensible: the city authorities are already fully controlled by the Kremlin forbid the democrats to conduct an anti -fascist march in response to the Nazis march on November 4. And when the Democrats in protest went to the city hall, our picket was simply dispersed. For the first time in Moscow, a peaceful picket of citizens under the slogan “Fascism will not pass!” Was dispersed. For the first time, Russian riot police stomped Russian flags.

Removal from the election distance of the Parents party does not solve the nationalist videos, but only exacerbates the problem. The prohibitions of nationalists are not overcome. They must be defeated by reasonable arguments in an honest competition - democratic methods. And we are ready to fight them honestly and openly. The authorities made the martyrs pursued by the opposition from them. I'm afraid this will only add supporters dissatisfied with the authorities to nationalists.

The government makes stupidity for stupidity, shows open aggression: it hires a killer party against the democrats, which participates in the elections with only one purpose-to pour dirt on our coalition. The authorities frankly lying, attributing to the "apple" and the ATP alliance with the National Bolsheviks.

And, of course, how not to play Chubais’s map in the end? This has already become familiar: he is to blame for everything. I won’t even comment on this. Thinking people everything is clear.

All this says about one thing. Power was frightened of us - united democrats. I was frightened, because the implacable opponents - ATP and Yabloko unlawed, because we have a real chance to revive, create a powerful democratic party and return to politics, defending freedom, democracy and human rights.

I am not addressing you to ask for help in the elections. I urge you to think about what will happen to the country if the Democrats are not in power.

Now you can’t stand aside! Now every citizen must take responsibility and begin to act: to speak, convince everyone around, defend his position, not allow falsify the election results, protect his right to life in a civilized state, the right to law, property, justice, and freedom.

This time we are all party and non -partisans, Christians and Muslims, Russians and Jews - must, are obliged to unite, come on December 4 to polling stations and win. Not for the sake of democrats, but for the sake of democracy, for the sake of freedom, for the sake of Russia.
