Judge Irina Kolesnikova made the decision to extend Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s detention until July 14 on her own, without a motion from the prosecution or without hearing the defense. Meanwhile, only on Tuesday the Constitutional Court adopted a resolution obliging judges to listen to the opinions of all participants in the process before deciding on a preventive measure. It seems that the Meshchansky court decided to compete with Basmanny for the title of the most fair and law-abiding.
