On August 22, the Ingodinsky District Court of Chita refused to satisfy the request for the parole of Mikhail Khodorkovsky. As an Ekho Moskvy correspondent reported from the courtroom, the court took into account the fact that Khodorkovsky did not repent of what he was charged with (although, according to the law, repentance of a convict is not required for parole), and did not receive work while in prison specialty, which means his reluctance to take the right path. Lawyers have the right to appeal this decision within ten days. Khodorkovsky himself told an Ekho Moskvy correspondent that the reform of the judicial system, in his opinion, is proceeding slowly.
