On the evening of March 31, three unknown persons beat up the leader of the movement “For Human Rights” Lev Ponomarev. They attacked him when he returned home and parked his car. The co-chairman of the movement, Evgeniy Ikhlov, told the Daily Journal about this. Ponomarev is currently in hospital in serious condition. Doctors say there is no danger to life. Ponomarev’s daughter, lawyer Elena Liptser, told Interfax that only the human rights activist’s mobile phones were taken away, and one was demonstratively smashed.
