Patience is running out

Benedict XVI “must demand that the government stop ramming the Catholic faith down our throats,” 17-year-old schoolboy Alexander Pavlovsky told The Times. Increasingly, criticism is heard in Polish society of the alliance formed between the right wing of the government led by the nationalist Prime Minister Marcinkiewicz and the local Catholic Church. Perhaps the worst sufferer is the school, which is advised not to raise topics of the war in Iraq, environmental problems and sex; attempts are being made to “cut off” students from the Internet.
