"Flying Fathers"

The project of Japanese photographer Yuki Aoyama is gaining popularity on the Western Internet, who convinced many office workers, businessmen and several executives of large companies to be photographed jumping.

Office workers in front of Aoyama's camera jump and contort while their teenage daughters, also participating in the photo shoots, calmly pose and smile at the camera. According to the photographer, his favorite part of this work is what happens after the shoot, when father and daughter, who have just had an unusual experience together, hug and laugh.

The project began back in 2006, and over nine years the photographer’s collection has accumulated thousands of photographs, as well as several stories about the shooting - for example, about how one of the fathers accidentally tore his trousers due to his zeal.

The photographer’s father was also an office worker, and Aoyama learned about how good a worker he was considered after his death from the stories of strangers.

Sometimes footage of “flying fathers” is mistakenly called a new trend or flash mob.
