Just rhetoric

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in Russia today for a two-day visit: she intends to discuss a wide range of issues with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, including Iran, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and American missile defense in Europe. Upon arrival, Rice said that she did not like Russian rhetoric towards the United States, but she saw no basis for a new Cold War. “I know people talk about it, throw around phrases like “new cold war.” As a person who came out of this period, and as a specialist, I think that the parallels ... frankly speaking, have no basis at all.”
