67-year-old David Bahnson has modified his kayak to accommodate two dogs.

The first thought about this came after David saw how his first dog, Susie, could easily fit in the luggage compartment of a kayak. And soon after that, he and his wife got a second dog, Ginger, who also liked to swim in this unusual way.
According to David, his kayak is actually built like a three-paddler kayak, except there's nowhere to stretch out your legs—but his golden retrievers don't need that.

“We've seen other people on kayaks with their dogs, but they tend to sit together. It’s not very comfortable, but everyone has a little bit of their own space and they just sit and enjoy the swim.”
The tradition continued after Susie and Ginger died in due course, and the Benson family acquired new pets.
