Just two weeks before this tragic event - November 14 - the official was removed from the post of director of the Urban Planning Department of the Primorsky Territory.
The main reason for the dismissal of the chief builder of the Vladivostok summit, according to the official message of the press service of the local governor, was a weak executive financial discipline, which entailed the failure to fulfill the budget and the breakdown of the commissioning of several key objects of the APES-2012, which took place in the first decade of September on the Russian island. “The governor [of the Primorsky Territory Vladimir Miklushevsky] decided to dismiss Sergey Yakushin from his post, as he was generally dissatisfied with his work. The deadlines for the construction of five-star hotels, as well as the Opera and Ballet Theater, were an important factor, ”the press secretary of the head of the region Sergey Nechaev explained then to the Russian newspaper.
