

Independent candidates who came to a meeting in the Novopushkin square promised to fight for honest elections and organize constant protests.

By the beginning of the action - at two in the afternoon - about 300 people came to Novopushkinskaya Square. After half an hour there were about a thousand of them.

Half an hour after the start of the action, an opposition politician, candidate for deputies Ilya Yashin called on those gathered to go to the Moscow City Hall: “I want [Moscow Mayor Sergey] Sobyanin so that all these guys at the city hall hear our city.”

“The Russian people are quiet. The Russian people are peaceful, but for the time being. No need to angry your people, because we will come again, ”Yashin said to the crowd at the city hall. In response, the audience began to chant: "admit!"


As in the Novopushkinsky Square, the candidates took turns with speeches, climbing the fence of the city hall building.


Ilya Yashin invited the audience to knock on the door of the city hall so that the authorities would hear their demands.

The latter was Love Sobol, a candidate for deputies of the Moscow City Duma, the ally of the founder of the "Fund for the True against Corruption" by Alexei Navalny. She urged everyone to go to the building of the Moscow City Election Commission (MGIK). There was no Navalny himself on the action; On July 11, he left the special receiver, where he was serving an administrative arrestfor participating in Mark in support of the correspondent of the Medusa Investigations Ivan Golunov.


Not everyone heard the Sable of Sable. But the audience still went for the candidate, many chanted: "For love!" And "Register!"

The police tried to block the protesters to the building, but they failed. Then they stuck in a cordon at the door of MGIK.

The crowd at the MGIK building chants: “Sobyanin is a coward!”, “Gorbunov, not sink, we won’t touch it!” And "Give honest elections!"


Police allowed Yashin to go inside and transfer the requirements of the protesters - but in Mgik they did not open him. On the phone, the assistant Gorbunov said that he was in the country. The crowd chants: "We are more important than potatoes!"

The protesters decided not to disperse until the head of the Moscow City Walents Valentin Gorbunov came out to them. Some people settled on the ground, offering to arrange a sedentary protest (one of the slogans that began to chant the sitting - “Sit for honest elections!”).


At about 20:00, the gathered, before that sitting on the rugs, began to put the tent in the courtyard. After that, the police, who behaved emphasized with restraint all day, began the detention.



For 20 minutes, more than 20 people were detained, including candidates for deputies of the Moscow City Duma Ilya Yashin, Lyubov Sobol, Andrey Zhdanov and Julia Galyamin.


The police lined up in a chain and replaced the protesters from the courtyard. After that, many participants in the action dispersed, but about 300 people continued to remain in the alleys near the MGIK building.


By 20:45, 38 detainees were already reported.
