It is known that customers often have complaints about servicing a Sberbank issued by a Sberbank. That's the day before yesterday, a major failure in the ATM of the country's largest retail bank cannot be called an unprecedented occurrence. However, such a "mass defeat" with Sberbank ATMs has not happened for a long time - the victims mainly recall episodes from "pre -crisis" practice. Perhaps this was in the vigilance of Sberbire’s clients, leaving statements from the account right at the ATM. (Recall that a piece of paper issued by an ATM after the operation can serve as a document when applying to the bank with claims for the transaction: more than necessary; they wrote off, but not issued, etc.)
Although the experienced holders of Sberbank cards do not occupy vigilance: small errors in the work of Sberbank ATMs are found only and then. So, employees of the department of service of individuals can advise the client, faced with technical problems (for example, the ATM “does not recognize” your pin code, although it honestly returns the card), “try to do the same in some other ATM”. That is, representatives of the bank fully admit that faulty machines may be on the network.
As for the current failure, when several thousand holders of the cards of international payment systems issued by Sberbank could not receive the amounts requested at ATMs, although these amounts were written off from the accounts, the “Sber” explained the “processing”, which coincided with the “peak withdrawal of cash”, and promised to close the issues that had arisen to the end of the current current weeks.
Is there a government for Sberbank? While he remains an actual monopolist in the retail banking business, there is no need to expect positive changes in working with clients from him. But still making forecasts for the current year, many financial experts talked about the ambulance of the Sberbank monopoly in the market for individuals. Like, there are young and ambitious, striving to capture, if not the whole market, then its most tidbits. Therefore, wait for a rapid improvement in the quality of work, new services and in any case - more attention of credit organizations to the client.
Meanwhile, the year ends, but there are no serious progress. True, one of the fresh analytical reports states that the share of Sberban on the retail segment of the market can be reduced from the current 75-80% somewhere to 40%, but the authors are silent about the expected terms of such shift.
Consequently, there is no reason for a serious concern for their dominant position in the retail services market for Sberbire. Otherwise, yesterday, if not in all Moscow branches of the bank, then at least in those equipped with ATMs, special windows would have appeared "for servicing customers who suffered from a technical failure on September 16, 2003."
By the way: in the summer of this year, in one of the Moscow branches of a large retail Russian bank with 100 percent foreign capital, there were also problems with the influx of customers. True, ATMs worked properly, but the lines appeared in the office. One of the visitors, which clearly stood in anticipation of the clerk for more than twenty minutes, broke, demanded the boss and threw it in his hearts: “They serve better in Sberbank! ..” Soon additional tables appeared in the department and the queue resolved without a trace ...
