Kim Jong-un delivers ultimatum to US

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is ready to wait "until the end of the year" for the US to soften its position in the negotiations on denuclearization, otherwise Washington "will not be able to get what it wants at all." The North Korean leader stated this during a speech before the Supreme People's Assembly, RBC reports a message from the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea.

The United States came to Hanoi with "completely unworkable plans" and "wasn't really ready to face us and solve the problem," the DPRK leader said. According to him, the DPRK is ready to try to negotiate again if the third summit is held "with the right attitude and the right method of calculation."

“I will be patient and wait until the end of this year for a bold American decision, but it will be difficult to get the same good chance as last time,” he said. “One thing is clear, if the United States sticks to the current political calculations, the prospects for a solution to the problem will be bleak and very dangerous,” Kim Jong-un added.

The US and North Korean leaders met last June in Singapore and in February in Vietnam. During the second meeting, which ended ahead of schedule without signing any agreements, Trump asked the head of the DPRK to transfer nuclear weapons to the United States in exchange for lifting sanctions, but Kim Jong-un refused.
