The initiative group for nominating the leader of the United Civil Front Harry Kasparov in the President of Russia was denied the premises for the meeting, the press service of another Russia reports. Late on Monday evening, the leadership of the Mir Cinema Hall on Tsvetnoy Boulevard terminated the lease agreement in advance.
The owner of the hall did not explain the reasons for the refusal. The rent has already been paid by that time.
The meeting of the initiative group of Kasparov was planned for the next Thursday. In the same hall last Saturday, the meeting of his initiative group was already held by presidential candidate, a teacher of the Moscow Institute of Regional and Interethnic Relations Sergey Glubokov, and on Friday the meeting will be held in support of the DPR leader Andrei Bogdanov.
Earlier, the initiative group of Kasparov was refused 5 other premises. As noted in "other Russia", it is no longer possible to hold a meeting on the street, since according to the law it is necessary to submit a notification to the CEC 10 days before the event. The deadline for submitting documents of candidates for the CEC and the meeting expires on December 18.
Kasparov noted that the opposition of the authorities to his nomination even at the first stage indicates that the authorities seek to prevent any democratic procedures at all. “We can’t even start a legal procedure - to hold a meeting, then to collect signatures,” he said. At the same time, in an interview with the newspaper.gzt.ru, Kasparov admitted earlier that the collection of two million signatures, moreover, their registration, is an unrealistic. Kasparov expects to collect 100-200 thousand signatures of his supporters, who are then "organized into the network structure."
The leader of the OGF was elected presidential candidate from the Other Russia opposition coalition during the primaries that took place at the end of September.
Kasparov recognized the failed attempt to nominate the opposition candidate to the presidential election. He noted that this happened due to the inability to unite with the Communists.
