The body of the former leader of the Libyan Jamahiria Muamar Gaddafi is buried at dawn in an unknown place. As RIA Novosti reports, Reuters reported, referring to a source in the country's transitional national council. The burial place is kept secret due to fears that the grave of the overthrown leader will attract his supporters. Together with Gaddafi, his son Muatasem and one of the advisers are buried in the desert.
On Monday evening, the bodies of Gaddafi, his son and former defense minister Abu Bakra Unis were taken out of Misurata in an unknown direction. Prior to this, the new Libyan authorities closed access to the Caddafi body, which for almost four days was put on public display in one of the industrial refrigerators in Misurat. It was previously planned that Gaddafi’s body will be transferred to his relatives for burial in one of the Libyan tribes, but representatives of the PNS could not come to such an agreement.
Muamar Gaddafi was killed near his hometown of Sirt. His son Muatasem and the former head of the Ministry of Defense of Libya were also killed there. The Kaddafi Motor Coon, in which he tried to break out of the surrounded city, fell under air shelling. The wounded Gaddafi was able to hide in the drainage structure, but one of the PNS units discovered it and captured it. According to some reports, Gaddafi and Muatasas were tortured, and then were killed. Temporary Libyan authorities deny this version. The widow of Gaddafi previously turned to the international community with a request to help her receive the bodies of relatives for the funeral.
After the death of Gaddafi, his other son, a safe al-Islam, announced his intention to continue resistance to the forces of the rebels. The brief handling with which he spoke to his supporters on Sunday night was broadcast by the Syrian television channel Arrai TV. In circulation, the al-Islam safe emphasized that he and his supporters continue to be in Libya. "We continue resistance. I am in Libya, I am alive, free and intended to fight to the end and take revenge," he said.
Later, information appeared that the al-Islam safe is on the border with Algeria and Niger, preparing to flee to one of these states. “He is in the“ Triangle ”between Libya, Niger and Algeria. In the Murzuk region (a city in the desert in the southwest of Libya. - Ed.) He was given a fake Libyan passport,” a source in the PNS said.
He noted that the organizer of the flight of al-Islam from the country is the former head of the Libyan intelligence of Abdulla al-Senusi, who had previously expectedly fled to Niger. In Algeria, at the end of August, the wife of Gaddafi Safiya, his daughter Aisha and the sons of Ganibal and Muhammad with families found refuge at the end of August.
