Bill Clinton returned with a victory.
Victory has young female faces. The American of Chinese origin Laura Lin and Korean, Yuna Lee, worked on the Current TV cable television channel. On March 17, they were captured by North Korean border guards under circumstances, which are still called obscure. It is only known that this happened by the Yalujiang River near the Chinese border, in those places where Kim Jong Ira’s subjects in shallow water flee from the country of winning Chuchha. Journalists shot these places on the camera. The so -called DPRK court sentenced them to the 12 years of the so -called labor camps.
Simple, they became hostages.
This, generally speaking, is a distinctive feature of the Pyongyang regime. Know-how, still invented by the deceased Kim Il Sen: use the hostage system in negotiations about the future of his country. However, as a rule, the Pyongayan leadership used a more sweeping technique, holding millions of people on the Korean Peninsula in hostages. Fans of Chuchhe showed the world nuclear weapons and called the price of their conspiracy: money, fuel oil and food for the so -called people who literally die from hunger under the strict supervision of their favorite leaders.
In recent years, they have not been lucky. Know-how was bored, and the new nuclear trials, which Kim in the old fashioned way tried to stabger neighbors, caused disgusting irritation in the world. The sanctions of the UN Security Council, one another tougher, drove the DPRK into some kind of cosmic loneliness. Therefore, journalists who were under the muzzle of the Pyongyansky Karatsup machine guns became an undeserved and precious gift for Kim. And he did not miss this new opportunity to blackmail America. Just the form of coercion to the dialogue has changed - from more to smaller. Two young women were the subject of political bargaining. They began to live a living product, which Pyongyang was about to sell.
The calculation was correct: Kim Jong Ir knew who he was dealing with.
This is America, where the life of every citizen is worth its weight in gold. This is a society that will not allow you to forget about its hostages, and almost every day on television channels and newspapers about them will write and interview an inconsolable relatives. This is a political system that requires the president to participate in the fate of the stolen. And the point here is not even that Laura and Yuna worked on a television channel founded by Albert Mountain - Vice President in the Democrat Clinton administration. And the fact that the society with hope, which could turn into pain and anger, followed this unprecedented plot: "American journalists in the North Korean Gulag."
Of course, Obama was partly easier than Putin during the time of Nord-Ost and Beslan. The situation was static, and the terrorists had the mind not to keep the captives in the morning and not to shoot them. Although in some ways it is more difficult: the assault on North Korea was excluded completely. In addition, it spurred: every hour of prisoners in the dungeon worked against Obama. And he was looking for a way out of this impasse, thinking, first of all, about the salvation of lives and least of all about how to demonstrate the nations his steepness and unbending in the face of terror. These qualities were not in demand by society.
Vice versa. Saving the lives of young women, America humiliated to dialogue with scumbags. The ex-president of the United States humiliated before communicating with Kim Jong Ir. The White House humiliated before negotiations with the so -called Pyongyansky politicians who capriciously selected a candidate to meet with their so -called president. And these negotiations were conducted for a long time under the dictation of the DPRK.
And nothing else was left. The alternative was the death of young women in the camp. That is, the Americans did not have this alternative.
Judging by the fact that Clinton returned home with hostages, Kim was satisfied with the size of the ransom. He starred with the ex-president of the United States. He demonstrated to the world that he was alive and capable of communication. And almost certainly he received some promises personally from Obama in the oral retelling of Clinton, although they deny this in the White House. And even money, although, they say, in North Korea they have long learned how to print dollars in commodity quantities. Together with the production of drugs, this product is a budget -forming Chuchha in the economy, which, as you know, is strongly supporting its own forces.
However, all this is not too important, even if we assume that for some time Washington will be with emphasized politeness to communicate with the Pyongyansky outcast. That this country will again pour humanitarian assistance from the south, which the party authorities will plow. That Kimu and his accomplices will again open accounts in Western banks. As they open, they will close.
But Laura Lin and Yuna Lee is again in the wild. They are alive, they are happy, and all of America, together with their relatives, celebrates the day of liberation from the hands of terrorists. And if on this day they recall states that do not negotiate with terrorists, but destroy them along with hostages, then they very sympathize with the citizens of these states. Or they just won’t understand: how can this be?
For negotiations must be held with terrorists until the last hostage is released. With them you can take pictures, and hug, and promise golden mountains. Destroy or isolate them later. When the last hostage is alive (you see, alive) leaves the hospital, the auditorium, and the school. And for the sake of this, nothing is a pity: neither money, nor oath assurances, nor imitations of the withdrawal of troops from some Chechnya. And then everything is possible except war crimes. And young women in a rather strict form can explain what rivers it is allowed to walk with a movie camera, and near which it is impossible. Although it is impossible to explain anything to reporters by definition, and it is impossible to demand from them obedience and concern for state prestige by law.
