Valov was detained using violence by FSB operatives on January 19 and sent to a pre -trial detention center. The journalist does not admit guilt, insisting that his persecution is politically motivated. He indicates that 300 thousand in question in the case received for the publication of advertising.

At the investigation of the shafts, he kept hunger strikes at least twice. In June, during a hunger strike, he pierced his stomach with a pen and went to the hospital. Politzek went on such a step after the FSINCI have refused to call him an ambulance.

Politsyk told the judge and added: "Yes, I am a Jew, and I am not shy!" Trukhan did not accept, noting: "Well, good, now I understand you."

The defense also announced the falsification of the audio prospectments in the case: from the recording of Valov’s telephone conversations, his conversation with Sochi mayor Anatoly Pakhomov, who invited the journalist to his office to meet with the “victim” of Napso.

On November 16, the deputy, who had previously repeatedly ignored the trial, finally appeared in court. Although Napso rose defense, Trukhan did not make his comments. Meanwhile, the law allows this only with the consent of all sides of the process and only if the indications of the investigation significantly diverge from the data in court. Later at the same meeting, Trukhan unemotivatedly withdrew from the process two lawyers of Valov : Alexander Popkov from Agora and Mikhail Benyash.
