If you start talking about money - like this, without any prologue, preparations and scraping - the reader will consider me an extremely mercantile person. And this is not so. Therefore, the word will have to be capitalized and quoted. Let's talk about "Money" - those on TVS.
Director Ivan Dykhovichny cannot make it uninteresting. Even a striptease or a circus show in his production would be enchanting, exciting, extremely curious. Well, that's the kind of person. His series, Money, which runs every Monday through Thursday night, is well thought out, fun to play, and pleasing to the eye. Judging by the long list that crawls across the screen after the end of the next series, a huge number of people are working on each of them - like in a movie. Dresser, hairdresser, etc. - it is obvious that the attitude of the director to this project is also “cinematic”. Remember the participants of the first real show on our television "Behind the Glass". Nobody dressed them or combed them. They twisted, twisted and dressed themselves.
In "Money" everything is different. Only a few features make it related to the former "glasses": the characters are placed in a certain space, forced to communicate with each other and are connected by one thing in which they must achieve at least some result. In the current project (a series filmed daily, that is, almost in real time), the space is wider, there are more storylines and many more characters. The scenes are filmed in several pavilions, but the cameras do not stand behind the mirrors, but follow the characters. And of course, no one is watching the participants - who, where, how, how much and what exactly is doing. For this - special thanks to Dykhovichny.
He has many heroes: four girls working in an advertising agency at the radio station, retired presenters, a team of radio workers and those who joined them. The abundance of characters enlivens the picture. The story is not monotonous. The interiors are interesting (thanks to the decorators), the dialogues are funny (thanks to the writers), the scenes are finished (thanks to the actors). There are, however, moments when it becomes obvious: Mikhail Kozyrev is still not an actor, although he is organic. Yes, and girls, oblong model young ladies, sometimes play badly. But it's more than nothing.
About the script - especially. The news of every day, woven in to confirm the immediacy of what is happening, is all nonsense. We hear dozens of such messages every day. But the rest is funny. And yet unobtrusive. In "Money", for example, there is a barman - by all accounts, a Buddhist. A generous writer's pen put aphorisms into his mouth - as worldly true as ironic: “The drunken sea is knee-deep,” he says. - A puddle - up to the ears ... "
Yevgeny Grishkovets is very good, acting as a reasoner-moralizer-inner voice. He speaks smartly, subtly, helping the viewer to comprehend the nuances of relationships with money. He talks not about the price, but about the essence. Not about banknotes with the image of cities or people, but about the meaning. And it's true: is a man placed on a hundred guilders ten times better than the one on ten? In fact, it is gratifying, because in all other programs money is mentioned only when it comes to the amounts of debts and payments, budget holes and stolen millions, transactions and auctions. Mercantile people...
At the end of each episode, a caption appears: "To be continued ..." It will follow another sixty-odd times. There are rumors that the show may be moved from prime time to daytime. I don't know the reasons. But sorry if so.
Does money really mean that much?
