In early 2014, the Ministry of Defense will open its own news agency. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source in the military department. As expected, the agency will be focused primarily on the Internet audience.
The new structure will be specialized on military topics. Nevertheless, the interlocutor of RIA Novosti added, “socio-political topics, as well as resonant events in Russia and in the world, will not stand aside.”
The agency will be part of the media holding of the Red Star of the Ministry of Defense, headed by former Senator Alexei Pimanov . A film company created to release patriotic films is already working in the structure of this holding.
The plan of defense Sergei Shoigu announced plans to open such a film company in mid -September . According to the head of the military department, it must remove both artistic and documentary tapes, as well as cartoons. “The main task is to return to the origins of our history and patriotic education,” Shoigu commented on the meaning of his initiative.
