Ukraine reached the 1/4 finals

The national team of Ukraine reached the 1/4 finals, having beaten the Switzerland team on Monday. In the main and additional time, not a single goal was scored, the outcome of the game was decided in the penalty series.

In the main time, none of the teams had advantages, although Ukrainians created more points for taking the gate. Before the break, Andrei Shevchenko hit his head with a blow to the crossbar, and in the second half he, as well as Andrei Voronin and Andrei Gusin, were close to success.

In the Switzerland national team, Alexander Fry had the most real chance to open an account, after which the ball hit the gates of Alexander Shovkovsky from the penalty.

The Swiss did not realize any of the 11-meter strokes, and the Ukrainians beat Andrei Shevchenko after the misfire of Andrei Shevchenko. The penalty was implemented by Artem Milevsky, Sergey Rebrov and Oleg Gusev.

The FIFA Technical Committee recognized the goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Alexander Shovkovsky as the best player in the match against the Switzerland team.

In the 1/4 finals, Ukraine will meet with the Italian team.
