A priest who violated fasting

The Belarusian priest was fired after the visit of the patriarch for photographs of his limousine and guard

On October 14, on the page of the Priest of the St. Mikhailovsky Orthodox parish in Minsk, Alexander Shramko, a record appeared:

“No, I understand, of course, that washing their feet to the homeless is strained. But there are such simple things that do not require any feat. They don’t even cost anything. But they are appreciated high. Maybe someone from the encirclement of Patriarch Kirill will tell the head of the Russian Orthodox Church ... Here they are waiting for more than one hour on the street. You. Waiting. More. Not as much as in the old years. But still someone comes. You are interesting to someone. Even if they are not allowed into the cathedral, where the entrance is only on passes. They came and will stand on the street all evening, content with a broadcast on the screen. As if they can’t have enough like this on some “union”. Why not give them minimal live contact? Why do you need to roll up by car to the very gates of the cathedral and, having left it, do not even turn out? Is it really so difficult to go out at least 100 or 50 meters and pass several dozen steps, welcoming and blessing the people? To say a few warm words, someone to shake hands? After all, just ... And you will get a consequent win ... I don't understand. I lived to retirement and do not understand. As if on purpose ... for the Patriarch of the people, as it is, but for the guards he is - but only a source of potential danger. Maybe just demonstrative contempt? "

The post was accompanied by photographs of the limousine of the Patriarch, who arrived at the porch itself, and the Patriarch himself, who heard into the temple at the speed and expression of the chairman of the executive committee running past the deceived equity holders.

Many spoke and wrote about it. Those who were nearby posted photos. But only Father Alexander, because of the patriarchal limousine, lost his job.

On Sunday, October 15, Alexander Shramko came to hold a liturgy in his parish in honor of all saints. But he was asked to leave the service - they say, there is an oral ban on the diocese, since the high guest is extremely angry with his post on the social network. And on Tuesday, Alexander Shramko was summoned to the diocesan administration and awarded a decree on the dismissal of the cleric of the religious community “The arrival of the Church of the Holy Archangel in Minsk” with the deprivation of the right to ministry, wearing the Jerely Cross and teaching blessings. The foundation is “violation of the Jerely oath, oath -crime and systematic publications in the media messages that defeat the Orthodox Church and sow enmity and hatred in the hearts of people.”

Now Alexander Shramko is looking for work. Any feasible work: his pension is 250 Belarusian rubles (7750, if we count in Russian rubles). And he thinks about his own video blog on YouTube. I have no doubt that he will be helped with work - parishioners, and not only they, love and respect the father of Alexander. He is generally a famous and respected personality in Belarus. Shramko is called priest-blogger, liberal, publicist. He is ironic and devoid of all pathos. The former radiophysicist, Alexander Shramko, became a priest 24 years ago.

And all this time he publicly spoke and wrote about the leadership of the Orthodox Church what other priests pronounced only in a whisper at closed doors.

Now, after his demonstration, they will stop even in a whisper. Perhaps the Patriarch and his guards counted on.

One of the last records on the page of his father Alexander:

“If I had euphoria, it is in the form of hope that everything can be corrected and revived. And so I knew very well where I was going. Unlike many now disappointed. But still I remember my conclusion shortly after the ordination: "It turned out to be even worse in the church than I thought, and the priests were better than I thought."

Or worse.
