The EU may use the European Parliament resolution on human rights in the Russian Federation for visa restrictions

EU countries can use the recent resolution on respect for human rights in Russia to restrict the entry into Europe of persons suspected of human rights violations. This statement was made today at a press conference in Moscow by the head of the Committee on International Affairs of the European Parliament, Elmar Brock.

"We believe that we can use the adopted resolution in order to control the issue of issuing visas to certain officials, " Interfax quotes Brock .
