The difficult situation in the banking market makes it necessary to closely monitor any reports of problems in the work of credit institutions. Last week, the Ogni Moskvy bank officially announced that it would stop accepting deposits from individuals. From April 9, the credit institution issues previously placed deposits by appointment. In addition, many corporate clients also encountered problems in their transactions. "Novaya" contacted the press service of the bank with an official request - and received a response.
— Are there any restrictions on the operations of legal entities, in particular, withdrawing money from an account, making payments? When and in connection with what were such restrictions introduced, for how long can they be lifted?
- The bank has no restrictions on the operations of legal entities, the problems are associated with a lack of liquidity. This problem is typical for the financial market as a whole. Liquidity problems result in delays in making payments and disbursing funds. The bank's owners decided to provide assistance, and a program of assistance to the bank was agreed with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. The implementation of the program took a little longer than we expected. The bank expects the receipt of financial assistance until May 15, then during May we plan to stabilize the work of the bank. This situation is temporary, and we plan to fully restore the bank's normal operation during May-June. The amount of funding will be about 2 billion. rub.
- At the end of February, after an inspection by the Central Bank, CB Ogni Moskvy was forced to add 300 million rubles of reserves, and at the end of March, bank customers began to report problems during operations. Are these events related, and if so, did the bank warn corporate clients about possible problems in its activities due to the need to comply with the requirements of the regulator?
These questions are not related. There were no visible prerequisites for the emergence of liquidity problems in the bank. Therefore, there were no grounds for informing customers about possible problems in the bank's activities after fulfilling the requirements of the regulator. Banks may have problems with capital adequacy, but at the same time liquidity ratios can satisfy both regulatory requirements and the requirements of creditors. Problems in conducting operations are related to the reduction in the bank's liquidity, which was provoked by early closing of deposits of individuals, which occurred as a result of sentiment in the financial market after the revocation of licenses from several commercial banks.
The answer of the bank's press service is both reassuring and alarming at the same time. Obviously, without the help of shareholders, it will be difficult to stabilize the work of KB Ogni Moskvy. Help has been promised but has not yet arrived. Novaya will closely monitor the development of the situation both before and after May 15.
