The Basmanny Court arrested the anti -fascist Alexei Gaskarov for two months, the correspondent of the "faces" from the courtroom reports. When Judge Irina Skuridina announced the decision, screams “Down with Basmann Justice” and “Swamp business” were heard in the hall. About 50 activists came to support Gaskarov. The prisoner himself urged everyone to take part in the action on May 6. When the convoy took him out of the hall, he managed to kiss his girlfriend Anya.
Gaskarov became the 28th accused in the "swamp case". He is charged with the leadership of the mass riots and violence against a police officer (part 2 of article 212 and part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code).
For Gaskarov, the head of the movement "For Human Rights" Lev Ponomarev and State Duma deputy from "Fair Russia" Dmitry Gudkov gave personal guarantees. In addition, the People’s Council of Zhukovsky and the editors of the Zhukovsky Vesti newspaper were entrusted for Gaskarov. Gaskarov himself said that "he really dragged the policeman because he performed actions against a person, threatening his life and health." “I simply did not allow him to harm a person, but did not beat and did not harm, and immediately stopped his actions as soon as the danger was discontinued,” Gaskarov said.
“I am constantly living at home. It is not clear to me why they couldn’t find me. All these are standard arguments. In 2010, I was accused of the same and I was kept under arrest on the basis of linden certificates. But then I was free before the trial and did not disappear,” Gaskarov said. According to him, if he had a desire to hide, he would "have done it for a long time over the past year."
According to the Investigative Committee, on May 6, 2012, in the Gaskarov Bolotnaya Square, he led a group of persons who took an active part in the riots. " The investigation also states that the anti -fascist personally beat a policeman who detained the demonstrators. The "injured" riot police Igor Ibatulin said that he was "brought into the crowd by the hands and feet, took his helmet and beat." At the same time, the riot police could not identify Gaskarov. On the eve of him, he was identified only "classified witnesses", which supposedly everyone saw from the outside. "I saw how Gaskarov leads a group of youth in hoods. I saw everything from the inside of the car while driving," the testimony of one of these witnesses, a driver of police special transport said.
Gaskarov was detained on Sunday afternoon and delivered for interrogation as a witness. The lawyer of the Association "Agora" Svetlana Sidorkina left him. In the TFR of Gaskarov, two "classified witnesses" "identified" "identified", whom neither the activist himself nor his defender was seen. After that, Gaskarov’s procedural status was changed.
On May 28, 2012, Gaskarov appealed to the head of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Moscow Vadim Yakovenko with a statement about the beating of his riot police on the march of millions on May 6. During the mass detentions, the activist asked the riot police: "What are you doing?" In response, he was struck with a rubber club on the face, after which, throwing to the ground, they began to beat their feet. Gaskarov received cut his head wounds and almost lost consciousness. In the emergency room of Zhukovsky, where the activist lives, the doctors left him three seams.
Gaskarov noted in the statement that in the actions of riot police, the composition of paragraphs “A” and “B” of part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code is seen (exceeding official powers using violence and special equipment). He made a reservation that he could not remember the police, since they did not have breast tokens, and their faces were hidden by the glass of helmets. However, the activist added, criminals can be identified by photographs and videos.
Gaskarov was previously arrested on charges of defeating the Khimki administration on July 28, 2010. Nevertheless, the Khimkinsky City Court fully justified it. Later, the Moscow Regional Council left an acquittal in force. In April 2012, the Tver District Court of Moscow ordered the Ministry of Finance to pay 50 thousand rubles to the activist for illegal criminal prosecution.
Gaskarov is a member of the Coordinating Council of the opposition and the People's Council of the city of Zhukovsky.
