Skin color, nationality and religion are three pillars on which, in fact, any kind of terrorism, including state terrorism, rests. And if earlier disagreements on this ground were held back thanks to secular (legal) and religious frameworks, now this ability has been lost. Neither legislative, nor executive, nor (henceforth) spiritual power is inviolable for fanatics.
The Irkutsk story with the shelling of the mosque is another confirmation of this.
The mosque was shelled at night, at the end of the service, when only ten people remained in it - representatives of the community and students. They shot in cold blood: from the attic of the house opposite. Luckily, no one was hit.
The audacity with which the crime was carried out makes one think that this, too, is nothing but a pre-planned action. Both members of the community and the investigators in charge of the case agree on this.
The locals are worried. We randomly dialed a few phone numbers, but most refuse to comment. Afraid. They can be understood - the authors of shameful posters with anti-Semitic slogans, the direct organizers of the events at Manezhka and pogroms in Moscow markets are still unknown and have not been punished ...
“The mosque is Tatar, it is over a hundred years old,” they answered us on one of the phones. “And this has never happened to us before. We are extremely negative about this shelling, although we are of a different faith - the Orthodox. But it's still a holy place...
Who could have done this, one can only guess. Locals talk about another national conflict. The city is full of rumors, but the investigation is in no hurry to comment.
