The TFR recently stopped the criminal prosecution of the press secretary of Roskomnadzor Vadim Ampelonsky, who was accused of multimillion-dollar embezzlement. This was reported by Interfax with reference to Sergey Sedakov, an official’s lawyer.
The claimed, Ampelonsky was recognized as not involved in the crime. He was explained the right to rehabilitation. “Whether the lawsuit about compensation will be filed, Ampelonsky himself will already decide,” the lawyer added.
Sedakov also said that the persecution of the defendants of the case was stopped. He, however, did not specify their names.
The investigation in the case was completed in late July . It remains incomprehensible why over the next four months the materials were never sent to the prosecutor’s office and why accusations from Ampelonsky and his accomplices were removed only now.
The case of RKN officials became known in October last year . In total, 15 people were attracted by Interfax, as Interfax is now. In addition to the Ampelonsky defendants, in particular, were the head of the legal department of the RKN Boris Nidin, the general director of the FSUE General Radio Frequency Center subordinate to Roskomnadzor, Anastasia Zvyagintseva and its adviser Alexander Veselchakov.
Of these four, Zvyagintseva took away a lower -off wizard, and the other three were placed under house arrest, although the investigator demanded to send Ampelonsky and unit to a pre -trial detention center.
Initially, the case was investigated in part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale; up to 10 years of colony); In the future, it was re -qualified to part 4 of Article 160 of the Code (embezzlement in a particularly large amount; maximum sanction is the same). It was claimed that additional salaries were illegally charged officials of the RKN, fictitiously employing them in the GRCC. The scheme was used from 2012 to February 2017. The Damage of the Investigative Committee assessed in the amount of over 58 million rubles.
Ampelonsky, like a number of other defendants, denied guilt.
On September 26, it became known that the investigator freed Ampelonsky, Sepinin and Veselchakov from house arrest, taking from them to be unsuccessful . After that, Ampelonsky returned to work in the RKN.
