Behind the house of the leader of the "other Russia" Eduard Limonov, external observation has been established. "The outdoor surveillance car inside took a position in the courtyard under my windows a little earlier than 11 in the morning. Since then, it is worth it, then turning off the engine, then turning on, when they freeze," the politician wrote in his blog . “By night, the car will most likely be changed or added the second, or even the third. All this is called: the struggle for freedom of assembly in the Russian Federation,” writes Limonov.
In his opinion, the observation was organized in connection with the rally, which should take place on January 31 on the Triumphal Square in Moscow. “It surprises me that the surveillance began 30 hours before the rally. Apparently, they are afraid to lose sight of me if, for example, I will decide to spend the night somewhere else and the opera will not be able to prevent me from getting to the rally,” Limonov told the Kasparov.ru portal.
According to Limonov, he will not hide from the persecution. “We play with the authorities. They have all the powers, and we have nothing. It remains only to wait for the detention,” the politician said.
On December 31, 2010, Limonov was detained when leaving the house. Then the police detained the activist of “other Russia” by Kirill Manulin. The Gagarinsky court found Limonov guilty of petty hooliganism and sentenced to 15 days of arrest. Manulin was sentenced to 8 days.

On January 19, the mayor's office agreed to hold the action in defense of the freedom of meetings on the Triumphal Square on January 31, the organizer of which was a group of human rights activists led by the head of the Moscow Helsinki group Lyudmila Alekseeva.
