Police major wounded in Chechnya

In the Zavodskoy district of Grozny, a police major was wounded as a result of an explosion. This was reported to RIA Novosti on Wednesday by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the explosion occurred the day before during the conduct of operational-search activities by OMON officers from the Arkhangelsk region. As a result, the deputy commander - chief of staff of the OMON was wounded. The officer has been hospitalized.

The matter is currently under investigation. Operatives identify a circle of persons involved in the installation of an explosive device.
