Andrei Voznesensky died

In Moscow, at the age of 77, the poet Andrei Voznesensky died. As a source in the medical circles of the capital told Interfax , the poet died at home. Farewell to Andrei Voznesensky will begin at noon on June 4 at the Central House of Writers, ITAR-TASS press secretary of the Union of Writers Alexander Gerasimov told ITAR-TASS. According to him, the issue with the burial place has not yet been resolved. As options, the Novodevichye or Vagankovskoye cemetery or Peredelkino, where Voznesensky lived for many years, are considered.

Andrei Voznesensky was born in Moscow on May 12, 1933. He began to write poetry as a child. When he was 14 years old, Boris Pasternak invited him to the meeting.

In 1957, Voznesensky graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute. Already in 1958, his poems appear in newspapers. Fame came to Voznesensky after the release of the poem "Master" (1959). In the 60s, thousands of audiences collected poetic evenings in which Voznesensky performed with Yevtushenko, Christmas, Akhmadulina.

In 1960, the first collections of the poet’s poems - “Parabola” and “Mosaic” were published. In 1983, collected works in 3 volumes were published. The cycle of poems by the Voznesensky "Antimira" was set by the theater on Taganka. There they set up the play "Take care of your faces." The rock opera "Juno and Avos" was set in Lenkom. Many popular pop songs have been written to Voznesensky’s verses.

Andrei Voznesensky was elected academician and honorary member of ten academies of the world, including the Russian Academy of Education, the American Academy of Literature and Art, the Bavarian Academy of Arts, the Paris Academy of the Goncurov brothers, the European Academy of Poems. The poet - laureate of the USSR State Prize, was awarded American prizes twice. At the Paris festival "Triumph" was called the "greatest poet of our time."
