But President Putin decided to show the whole of Russia that governors who surrendered to the mercy of the Kremlin are forgiven. And he appointed Yevgeny Nazdratenko to the fishing place.

Immediately after Nazdratenko was appointed, fish ran out in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk. In the sense that the quotas for its catch have almost halved. The fact is that the scientific institutions that determine the volume of the allowable catch are subordinate to the State Committee for Fisheries. And you must admit: the more scarce the resource, the more expensive its distribution.

After the quotas were reduced, many fish farms went bankrupt without receiving quotas. Others, on the other hand, flourished. And there was a conflict with the seaside Darkin because of the same quotas.

Shortly after his election, Darkin distributed regional pollock quotas. And somehow it turned out that they were received by companies close to the governor. The quotas were sent to Glavryba for approval. And somehow it so happened that Nazdratenko did not approve the quota. And he rewrote them to companies that flourished in the region under Nazdratenko himself.

Darkin rushed to complain to Kasyanov. Kasyanov summoned Nazdratenko and pretended that the head of the State Committee for Fisheries had no right to redistribute regional quotas. He only approves them. And, do you think Evgeny Ivanovich resisted? No, he willingly admitted his mistake. And called a committee. And he returned quotas to Darkin's companies.

It's just that by this time all pollock had already been caught.

Premier Kasyanov was very offended. At a government meeting, he could not contain his sadness and asked, like Little Red Riding Hood: “Grandma, why do you need such large scientific quotas for catching crab?” Premier Kasyanov knew why there were large scientific quotas in the State Fisheries Committee. But Nazdratenko remained on top. After that, many in the State Fisheries Committee decided that Nazdratenko was about to be removed. And they began to behave quite unbridled. They say that one of the deputies, who was itching to take the place of the chief, wrote a statement that Nazdratenko had ordered him. And another deputy went to the casino with one of Nazdratenko's sons. The deputy lost and asked his son Nazdratenko for a loan. Zam was very drunk. And he said: "I'll give it back when they appoint me the head of the State Fisheries Committee." And got a turnip.

On the other hand, it's all a lie. The deputy and the casino - I still understand that. This deputy, they say, has his own fishing company and a partner named Winnie the Pooh. But where have you seen the sons of high government officials go to the casino? For what money?

One way or another, Nazdratenko was not removed until the end of 2002. And Governor Darkin again assigned pollock quotas to his companies. And Nazdratenko rewrote the quotas again. And fishermen from companies owned by economic officials went on strike against their enemies.

After that, Prime Minister Kasyanov became angry and removed Nazdratenko from office. His orders were cancelled. Pollock was caught by Darkin's companies.

Investigators have become frequent in the State Fisheries Committee. They were investigating the allotment of huge additional scientific quotas for the catch of crab and trumpeter. Knowledgeable people do not agree on the number of bribes for these quotas. Who says 5 million dollars, who - all 10. But Evgeny Ivanovich never gave up. He accepted the fight and testified. In his testimony, Yevgeny Ivanovich recalled that Kasyanov's signature flaunts under the final decision on the allocation of quotas. And the deputy prosecutor general promised to interrogate the prime minister. In the meantime, the court and the case, Nazdratenko was reinstated.

And it turned out badly: the prime minister removed not the most important official - and after that he turned out to be a defendant in a criminal case.

It came out completely indecent. Until the fact that the United Russia party, which has long been promised a sweet prime ministerial carrot, also decided (after YABLOKO) to demand the resignation of the government.
