Berlusputin brought the theater.doc to the street. The lease agreement was terminated by the Department of Urban Property without explaining the reasons

The theatrical basement of forty people in a three -breed lane, presumably, spoils political weather today. Otherwise, do not explain the decision on the early termination of the lease, adopted, as it turned out, on May 5. True, no one found out about this then - neither the director of the theater Elena Gremin, nor the artistic director Mikhail Ugarov. The real waste to the Patriarchals, where theater.doc lives for twelve years, has just been made: the theater was refused to accept documents for extension of the lease. It turned out that according to the law for four months the theater is homeless. The contract was terminated by the Department of City Property, as they say, unilaterally. And - of course - without explanation.

The basement in three -breeded is turned into a room suitable for the theater, with the hands of the docks themselves, washed, painted, equipped with tough chairs - at forty, a maximum of fifty people. For twelve years the theater worked in the “field conditions”, but always at the Angollays. DOC is a non-budget institution-the only attempt in Moscow in Moscow, the socio-political theater that has existing for copper money. In addition, DOC is conducting social projects - it works with people with disabilities, schoolchildren, adolescents in colonies.

By the way, about the cultural future: in Moscow, in addition to the theater art studio, there are no other theaters independent of the budget. DOC is the only “leftist” among the solid “right”. It is clear that Europe is no longer a decree, but in France, after the revolution of the 68th, there were many small scenes involved only in urgent problems and ultimately changed the face of the French theater. And the London “Royal-Cort”, the theater of current commentary, is funded from the budget, and after the next loud premiere-scandal, as a rule, the scream of officials and parliamentarians, requiring the criticism of power, politicians, society, rises. But the Royal-Cort is alive.

The case with DOC is not a private, but typical, evidence that deaf times are closing above the stage. The team "With things to exit!" In three -breed can sound from a minute for a minute. Who and why exactly said “FAS!” Tasible today, of course, will remain unknown.

- The position of the independent theater in Russia is terrible, any colleague will say, especially from the regions. No protection. Just hell.

You can work as effectively as the State Theater, while not having any benefits, neither in advertising, nor on situations like this. For twelve years we did everything in our basement with our own hands, including ourselves found funds for the economic life of the theater, and now, of course, we are in shock. First, firefighters demand to make a way out, then higher authorities are guilty of the fact that the output is made. The On-theater in St. Petersburg was supposedly closed for the same "economic" reasons.

Meanwhile, how today our artists conduct literature lessons at a correctional school, they still work at a school for children of migrants, an ordinary school in the north-west of Moscow, this is only one of our successfully operating social projects.

For four months we regularly pay, not knowing that the contract has already been terminated. As 12-year-old tenants, by law, we have the right to preemptive lease extension. Obviously, terminating the contract with us ahead of schedule, the department intends to deprive us of this right.
