The first detention of Pussy Riot participants occurred after the action in support of Alexei Navalny on January 23. Then these were single episodes. Serious pressure on activists began in May-June: the security forces followed them on the heels and did not let them out of sight. Veronika Nikulshina was the first. On May 7, the police came to her because of the report that Nikulshina “had the intention to commit unlawful actions to disrupt the event” dedicated to Victory Day. Since law enforcement officers did not find evidence, the activist drew up a protocol on “non -fulfillment of the requirement of a police officer”. The court arrested Nikulshin for 5 days. The next day, another participant in Pussy Riot Alexander Sofeev was detained in Tula before the Sasha’s concert. He spent two days in the police department, after which the Tula court arrested the activist for four days under the article on petty hooliganism.

On July 7, Sofeev left the special receiver, where from June 23 he was serving the next 15 days for the “hooligan”. Initially, he was charged with article 20.21 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (the appearance in public places in a state of intoxication). However, the activist did not find alcohol on the medical examination in the body, then in a hurry the police rewrote protocols to petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). After the release from the IVS Sofeev, along with the photographer Dmitry Vorontsov and journalist Alexander Kiselev, went to the vaccination point in the living yard to make a second vaccination against coronavirus.
At the exit from the vaccination point, all three were detained and delivered to the China-Gorod police department. Later, Kiselev was released, and the protocols on petty hooliganism were drawn up to Sofeev and Vorontsov. Law enforcement officers in the protocol indicated that Sofeev "with a large accumulation of citizens, it was loudly expressed by obscene abuse, waving his hands, defiantly behaved." The Tver court of Moscow completely agreed with the arguments of the police: Sofeev was appointed 12 days of administrative arrest, and 10 to Vorontsov - 10.
With the other Pussy Riot participant, Maria Alekhina, the police did not at all ceremony. She was seized immediately after she freed herself from a special detention center after repeated administrative arrest. On June 23, the Kuntsevsky court of Moscow arrested her for 15 days under the article on non -compliance with the requirements of the police (19.3 Administrative Code). At the exit from the IVS with bags Alekhin, they detained and put in a gray car without identification marks. She managed to thank the friends gathered at the special cost reception for support.
Alekhin was taken to the police department in the Kuntsevsky district, where they left for the night. The next day, July 8, a protocol under the article on non -fulfillment of the requirements of the police was drawn up for the activist. In the report, the security forces wrote that they, together with the employees of the Center for Combating Extremism, detained Alekhin for obscene abuse at her house at 18.00 (!!!). Despite the fact that social networks have a video of the detention of the IVS and there are witnesses who can confirm that there was no “battle”, the Kuntsevsky district court again returned Alekhin to the IVS for 15 days.
The day before, the municipal deputy and participant of Pussy Riot Lucia Stein left the special receiver. She was detained on June 22 on the way to the store, and the next day was arrested for 15 days. She was also charged with an article on disobedience to the police. Unlike Alekhina with Sofaev, she was not re -delayed, and after liberation, she freely reached the house.
But, it seems, a new threat of arrest hung over her. A message appeared on Twitter that police officers were on duty near Stein's house. The activist fears that when leaving the house, she can again be detained and arrested under a fictional pretext. Stein herself, along with Alekhina, pass the accused in the so -called “sanitary case”, initiated after the action of the supporters of Navalny. Alekhina has been under house arrest from the end of January as part of this case. Stein was also kept under house arrest until the beginning of April, but then she was changed by a preventive measure to ban certain actions.
In addition to Alekhina, Stein and Sofeeva on June 23, Olga Shalina and director Anna Kuzminykh for disobedience to police officers, the head of the Moscow branch of another Russia, were arrested for 15 days. Two days ago, Kuzminykh left the IVS. She, like Stein, suggested a second detention and wrote in social networks, as the police guard her at the house. On July 9, her fears were confirmed - the girl was detained at the entrance and taken to the Yakimanka police department. “We were looking for drugs. They turned the suitcase and backpack to every dust - they did not find. Thought, thought and wrote again Art. 19.3 - disobedience of the police. Bravo, ”Kuzminykh said on Instagram.
In the department, the activist became ill, she has a serious illness, and she was called an ambulance. During the departure of the past administrative arrest, she had difficulties in obtaining the necessary medications. “I have a complex disease - fibromyalgia. The pain is removed only by opiate painkillers, ”Kuzminykh wrote about it. After drawing up the protocol, she was taken to the Zamoskvoretsky court, where she was sentenced in the form of administrative arrest for another 10 days.

On July 3, another participant in Pussy Riot Veronika Nikulshin was repeatedly sent to the IVS for 15 days. On July 1, she left the special receiver, where she spent 15 days of arrest on charges of disobedience to the police, which, according to the police, was expressed in the fact that, during the detention, on June 16 she refused to voluntarily go with them to the testimony department. After the liberation of Nikulshina and her friend, the artist Roman Durov, fearing new detentions, decided to leave the city. They rented a house in the village of Novinka in the Dmitrovsky district of the Moscow Region, “left like spies,” they said on the air of “Rain” by Nultina and Durov.
“We turned off the phones so that there were no billing. Of course, we could not assume that there would be such a degree of absurdity that they would do some such things because of the administrative, but we were supervised. The next day, we noticed people in black jackets who “loomed” and looked at our windows, ”said Nilkhina.
According to Durov, they reported these people to the owner, whose house was rented, and when he left, the strangers introduced themselves to his mushroom pickers. “They had leather jackets, barriers, statutory boots, and they said that they were mushroom pickers who got lost, and we realized that something was wrong,” added Nultikhina. After some time, the “mushroom pickers” opened the gate of the house, Niculshin and Durov were detained and taken away by car, selecting phones. Both of them drew up protocols under the article on non -fulfillment of the requirements of the police. Dorogomilovsky court of the capital Nikhshshina appointed administrative arrest for 15 days, Durov - by 14.

The lawyer of the Apology of Protest, Mansur Gilmanov, representing the interests of Sofeev and Nilkshina, called the accusations on which Pussy Riot participants were sent to the IVS, "fabricated in full." He noted that each time more and more “amazing expressions and descriptions of actions” appear in reports: Sofeev and Vorontsov indicate in the protocol that they allegedly “grabbed the uniform uniforms of police officers”, from Nikulshina and Durov “pushed the police”. Such formulations border the criminal offense under Article 318 of the Criminal Code (the application of violence against a representative of the authorities). Moreover, all accusations against activists are built exclusively on the readings of the security forces and their reports. And this is enough for the judges. When the defense asks to provide records from breasts, which are fixed to the police, the courts reject these petitions due to “inappropriateness” and “redundancy”. According to the defender, in this way the authorities are trying to force activists to leave Russia.
“This is such a legal structure with which law enforcement agencies show with their actions that activists need to leave the country. If there used to be doubts, I thought that the detentions were due to some stocks and commemorative dates, now this is no longer connected. Although, maybe they have already begun to detain according to Christian and Orthodox holidays?! There are no longer any significant days for the Russian Federation. This has already acquired a clear nature of repression, ”Gilmanov believes.
