There is such a cozy place in Russia - in the Vyshnevolotsky district of the Tver region. A resort town where Chechens are starved, and Russians are finished off with stomach ulcers. The principle of feeding here is national, and the principle of moral and social support is religious. Moreover, Orthodoxy and Islam have nothing to do with it. Another thing is Sahaji Yoga.

Approximately 300 kilometers along the Moscow-St. Petersburg highway to the town of Vyshny Volochek, and from it another ten kilometers. To the sign "Leontyevo". Then to the right, along a narrow broken road 12-15 versts. Ten years ago, the Serebryaniki rest house was located here. And in the post-Soviet era of interethnic conflicts, refugees began to be brought here. First (in the 90s) - the Meskhetian Turks. They say that they were under the care of the UN High Commissioner, but three years later they were sent somewhere. Although, perhaps, this is not entirely true, but nevertheless they disappeared, just by 1995 freeing up space for refugees or - in official terms - temporary migrants from Chechnya.

But most of the 250 “displaced persons” have been living here since the beginning of the second Chechen campaign, in the autumn of 1999. There are singles, there are families with many children.

Over time, the letter "c" on the gate at the entrance to the former holiday home fell off and disappeared. It remains "... erebryany". And this new name perfectly matches the order that prevailed here, in the Temporary Accommodation Center (TsVR).

At first, all temporary migrants - Russians, Chechens - were fed the same way. That is bad. And since the first of August, only Russians have been badly fed. Officially: 15 rubles a day. And the Chechens are not fed at all. According to the existing state of affairs, 65 out of 250 people living in the TsVR "... erebryany" are on allowance. To be precise, I will say that among these 65 people there are several Chechens. They are from international families: a Russian wife or a Russian mother.

The problem is that the following is legalized in "... erebryany": only Russians receive the status of temporary migrants who have the right to free food. And those few Chechens from international families won their right to the status of "being Russian" through the courts.

Moreover, Elvira Salmanovna Datsalova, a veteran of the TsVR "... erebryany", enjoys the privilege of eating. A sick lonely woman, a Chechen according to documents, who has lived all her life in her native village of Kalinin near Grozny, considers herself a Christian German and embroiders beautifully stories on Christian themes. Perhaps that is why her right to free food is legalized, but maybe not.

I arrived at the TsVR "...Erebryaniki" with humanitarian aid from the readers of "Novaya Gazeta" for starving people of all nationalities. Somewhere around 18 pm. And I did not find the director of the center, Mrs. Galina Khityaeva, an adherent of the "correct" confession - Sahaja Yoga. Therefore, I will tell about the hungry and powerless life of the inhabitants of the center subordinate to her, based on what I saw with my own eyes and heard from the lips of people - with and without status, from adults and children.
