How to deal with errors on the exam

The result of the exam does not always depend on the knowledge of the students. Every year, students face the errors of the compilers of Kim (control and measuring materials), incorrectly compiled tasks and tasks that do not correspond to the level of training of students, the impossibility of appeal. This year is no exception.

Ambiguity

This year, an incorrectly compiled task was met by me. In the Russian language exam, which took place on June 3, I got an excerpt from Konstantin Simonov’s book “Living and Dead”. After the passage in Task 21, it was necessary to choose the statement that does not correspond to the text. Here is a passage of the text with which one of the statements had to be compared: “... about him (commander) they say that he knows how to protect people. But what does it mean - “protect people”? After all, you can’t build them in a column and you can’t take them from the front to where they do not shoot and do not bomb and where they cannot be killed. To take care of people in the war-just means not to expose them to meaningless danger, without hesitation, throwing them to meet the danger necessary. ”

And here is the statement itself: "People believed that the commander is protecting his fighters, because he did not endanger them."

I thought that this statement corresponds to the text, since it was explained in the text what it means to "protect people." But after the exam, this task did not give me rest, and I decided to ask tutors in the Russian language and school teachers, whether my reasoning is true. They together called the task strange and said: “This statement can be both false and correct. It is ambiguous. It all depends on the logic of a person. You might think that the writer sets out the position of people who believed that the commander knows how to protect his warriors. And you can consider it the thoughts of the author himself. ”

Before the announcement of the results, the students also argued about this question: someone thought just like me, and someone else. Both of them were right in their reasoning, but not everyone received the cherished score. For the 21st task, 1 primary score (2 test points) is given. All other statements in this issue were unequivocal, it was impossible to make a mistake in them. So the points eventually turned out to be lost due to a disputed assignment. I wrote an exam in Russian for 94 points, and I could have 96.

Unfortunately, we will never know the correct answer to this task, since we can only see points exhibited for each number. The answers are not published.

Unanswered

The same happens with other objects. On June 7, students handed over a specialized mathematics. A graduate of the Vladimir school Polina Demina in the exam did not solve the problem at number 10. Polina claims that she got a task that has no correct answer:

“I got the task of movement. In task 10, three -digit numbers most often come across, which should be considered without a calculator, a column. For three years of preparation for profile mathematics, I learned to consider them not only a column, but also in my mind. At the exam, I correctly compiled an equation and began to count huge numbers. When I reached the discriminant of the equation, it turned out that the root from it did not exist. I cut this task many times. The root was not extracted. And the root from among the answers cannot be recorded. The task simply did not solve. "

After the exam, Polina took the calculator and once again counted the numbers. The answer was the same. Then the graduate turned to its teacher. He confirmed that the equation of the problem was compiled correctly, and the root cannot be removed from the discriminant.

The graduate wanted to apply for an appeal, but the test part of the exam will not appeal. The appeal can only be submitted if the computer incorrectly recognized the student’s response.

Pupils do not have the right to apply for an appeal in the composition of Kim, even if they noticed a mistake in the materials. “I wrote an exam for 68 points, and I could have 70,” Polina said.

Not like in demo

Not everything is safe and with tasks in chemistry, and for more than a year. This year, the examiners argue that the Kims did not correspond to the material in school textbooks and collections for preparing for the exam, or the demonstration version of the exam. The chemistry tutor Zoya Polyakova, who has been preparing students for the exam for more than 15 years, says: “One of my students left the checkpoint in tears, two of my students were taken away on an ambulance with high pressure. The nerves were at the limit. The fact is that the tasks on the exam in the second part were the Olympiad level, and some of them could enter the student program. The students were not ready for this: after all, the declared level of tasks on the official website of FIPI ( Federal Institute of Pedagogical Dimension, which prepares Kima for the exam. - Z. A. ) was significantly lower. Last year it was the same, there was a scandal. Children who could write an exam for 90 points more, wrote it by 60 points. A year later, the situation repeated, despite the numerous petitions of graduates and their parents. ”

A controversial case

According to teachers of Moscow schools, the mistakes of the compilers in the Russian language exam are most often found - especially in task 9, aimed at knowledge of the alternating, unverified and verified vowels in the root of the word. The teacher of the Moscow school Tamara Belousova shares: “The children in assignment 9 were suggested: to accept, hire, squeeze, squeeze. It was necessary to choose roots with alternation. When the results came, many of my students saw that for this task they received 0 points. They were confident in their knowledge. We began to understand. The guys remembered this task, so they easily found it on the Internet. One of the sites said that these words have a root with an alternating vowel. We did not find this in any textbook. The words “hire” and “accept” are absent in textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education. And in the words “compress” and “squeeze”, according to the school curriculum, there is a whistle vowel in the root. ”

The students of Tamara Belousova found this task in the open bank of Fipi. But they did not find out what the compilers think about this number: there are no answers in the bank bank.

This year, the editors of Irina Tsybulko, the head of the Federal Commission of the developers of materials in the Russian language, which annually issues collections for preparing for the exam, has been published with typical options for the exam. In it, words such as “squeeze” and “hire” have a alternating vowel in the root. But this information can not help the graduates of 2020, because they have already lost their points.

Strict secrecy

I tried to find out from experts checking the exam, whether the schoolchildren complained about inaccuracies in the examination options. In response, they told me that all experts sign a special paper about non -disclosure of information about tasks.

I wanted to talk with one of the compilers of tasks for FIPI to ask how to compile and test tasks, whether the problems that appear on appeals are taken into account, whether it is realistic to prove that there is inaccuracy in the task.

One of the compilers of the tasks replied that it has no right to disclose information and that Fipi is a closed organization.

The question of Fipi's extreme secrecy was raised at a meeting of the Public Council under Rosobrnadzor in 2020, where a discussion of the general results of the exams took place. Roman Pazin, a teacher of the history of the Lyceum Higher School, a candidate of historical sciences, comments on the participant of this meeting: “The exam must be not only controlled, but also educational in nature. Therefore, it would be useful for students to look at their mistakes after the exam. We cannot assess the number of incorrectly compiled tasks in exams, there is very little information. Kima is not published anywhere. We can only judge by open options, demo versions and stories of students. We asked to make the system more open, we were not heard. ”

The situation is repeated from year to year: graduates, parents, subjects are perplexed about dubious tasks in Kima - but Fipi keeps proud silence, because it is conspired almost like the foreign intelligence service - naturally, so that there are no “drains”. But there is no dialogue - it means that there is no feedback with society, with graduates, with teachers. There is no work on errors.

One -sided communication
In the communication of graduates and those instances who are responsible for the timely publication of the results of the exam, transferring them to universities, acceptance and satisfaction of applications for appeal, there is practically no feedback. This became especially clear when the submission of applications for appeal and the appeals themselves went into online format.

The second part of the exam, not test, can be appealed. But even if you can appeal - it is not the fact that it will take place: the applications are not accepted, then they fly away to nowhere. “When I appealed to the results of the exam in social studies, I could not do this through the website of the State Services, I had to do this through one of the leaders of Rosobrnadzor,” says Sasha’s graduate. - They threw me a link to the entrance to the chat, but when I opened it, there was neither a chat nor experts - only a timer: wait, now the chat will begin. Nobody went into it. Two points were thrown to me in my absence, but I believe that this is a violation of my rights: I wanted to disperse 6-7 points. ”

The ZSHE Varvara applicant was unable to appeal to the exam results in English. “I submitted an application on the last day, but I definitely met on time. The tutor and I thought for a long time how to formulate the essence of the issue, because the window for the appeal is very small, you won’t write much there. The day passed, the second, the third - no news, no feedback. On the website mos.ru, it is impossible to see the status of an appeal. It is also impossible to get through to someone. ”

Will the results of the exam on a reserve day have time to come to the end of the reception campaign if it ends early, as, for example, at a theater university? Where to run, to whom to call if the deadline is already he, but there are no results yet? Will the GTO results come to the university so that the graduate receives his additional points, how to gather?

“I passed the TRP standards in April - especially for admission,” says Barbara. - On the website of the TRP, it is written that I handed over to the gold icon, but I have no evidence that I could submit to the reception commission. On the hotline on the TRP, they told me that the badge and certificate would be given to me at the end of September, when I will no longer need them. I asked for a document, but it was promised to me in late July-early August. And at the end of July I already have a reception campaign. ”

There are problems with the appeal - but the sites of “public services” do not imply bilateral communication, and their technical failures are almost impossible to appeal. Well, or just get to the chief boss who will solve the problem in manual mode. But even if the decision was found or sought through the court, it may be late, because the reception campaign quickly ends. Graduates in search of justice pounding a wall of silence. State bodies reply that this is the order of things. Hello, adult life.
