Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg at a plenary meeting unexpectedly excluded from the agenda the question of a referendum for the Isaacievsky Council. It is reported by TASS.
Unenos Boris Ivchenko proposed to remove the issue from the agenda. He was supported by 38 of 43 deputies. “Any deputy of the Legislative Assembly may offer to introduce or remove any question from the agenda,” said Elena Tymoshenko, head of the information department of the city parliament.
The deputy from the Growth Party Maxim Reznik said that Ilchenko suggested making the question of a referendum from the agenda "without any explanation." When Reznik himself tried to find out the reasons, the speaker of the Legislative Assembly did not give him such an opportunity, explaining that "the deputy may not motivate his proposal."
The Legislative Assembly violates the referendum law, evading the discussion of its holding, Reznik believes. According to him, deputies from the fractions of the Growth Party, Yabloko and Fair Russia will continue to make this issue on the agenda of the nearest meetings, and will also discuss other measures.
