Heavy snowfalls took place in Murmansk on the May holidays, which is a rare phenomenon even for the Arctic at this time of the year, Channel One reports. The snowfall took Murmansk motorists by surprise. They had to dig their cars out from under the snow.
Forecasters say that warming will come to the Kola Peninsula only in the middle of the month. They do not rule out that snowfalls may repeat in early June.
