Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin canceled his visit to Iran, where he was supposed to arrive for a meeting with the country of science and technology Sorina Sattari and Minister of Defense Hosein Dekhgan. According to Kommersant, referring to its own sources, the reason for the cancellation was the disclosure of information about the official’s visit.
The visit of Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov and Minister of Energy Alexander Novak Ambassador to Iran in Russia Mehdi Sanai announced February 12. In his statement, which appeared on the website of the Iranian news agencies Mehr and IRNA, it was clarified that the visit should take place "within the next month." Rogozin was to lead the Russian delegation in negotiations to expand cooperation between Russia and Iran in the field of technology and defense development.
The plane with Rogozin and the officials accompanying him was supposed to fly to Tehran on Monday morning, but it turned out that the deputy prime minister decided to cancel the visit, explaining this to "technical reasons."
According to the sources of the publication, the reason was the announcement of the Iranian side of information about the upcoming visit by Rogozin, although he initially asked to observe confidentiality. In addition to the meeting of the Committee on Science and Technologies, the co -chair of which is Rogozin, the parties hoped to discuss "fairly delicate topics", the source in the government apparatus explained.
In particular, "there was a difficult conversation about the reasons for the orientation of Iranian partners to purchase aircraft from Western countries." “We provide Tiegran with colossal support, and they take equipment from those who humiliate them with sanctions,” the interlocutor of the publication explained.
In early December 2016, the Iran Air Iranian airline signed a contract for the supply of 80 aircraft with the American Boeing Corporation. The contract implies the transfer of 50 Boeing-737 aircraft and 30 Boeing-777 aircraft over the next ten years. In addition, there is a contract with the European company Airbus, which implies the supply of 100 aircraft to Iran: 46 aircraft of the A320 family, 38 are A330 families and 16 wide -body A350 XWB. The total value of these two agreements is about 30 billion dollars.
Cooperation with Russia is much more modest, the newspaper writes. In 2016, the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft signed from one of the Iranian airlines "Memorandum of Understanding" for the supply of regional aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100. However, the document is purely frame and is not a binding nature.
In February 2016, it became known that Iran intends to acquire Russian military equipment and weapons worth at least eight billion dollars. As Kommersant wrote, the Iranian side is interested in the acquisition of Russian fighters of the Su-30SM type (with their subsequent localization), combat combat aircraft Yak-130, helicopters of the Mi-8 and Mi-17 family, Russian coastal mobile missile systems Bastion, equipped with the Supersonic anti-ship missile “Yakhont”, and regional ships of the class of class of class Frigate, diesel-electrical submarines and a number of other samples of military equipment.
At the same time, it was noted that Tehran expects to purchase Russian weapons on credit, but in Moscow they are not ready to go for this due to the economic crisis.
