A prisoner died in a special detention center in Yoshkar-Ola

A 30-year-old administratively arrested man died in a special detention center in Yoshkar-Ola. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Mari El.

The death of an arrested resident of Yoshkar-Ola was reported to the duty station of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Tuesday, December 22. The day before, he was placed in a special detention center by decision of the magistrate for committing an administrative offense (which one was not specified).

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the man underwent a medical examination, following which it was decided that his detention in a special detention center was possible. However, on the afternoon of December 22, the arrestee’s health deteriorated sharply.

Then the special detention center duty team called an ambulance. Before the doctors arrived, he was assisted by a paramedic from the medical unit of the special detention center. Ambulance doctors carried out resuscitation measures, which subsequently confirmed biological death. The man's cause of death has not been reported. An internal investigation into this fact is being carried out.
