The head of the Agora Association, Pavel Chikov, sent a letter to the Moscow prosecutor Sergei Kudeneev with a request to take measures to take measures about the systematic bends of the under investigation and defendants in the Moscow City Court. “It’s not that there is a lot of faith to the prosecutor, but it is important to launch the legal process,” the human rights activist explained the meaning of such a step in his article in Vedomosti.

Chikov reports about 15 cases of beatings known to him over the past one and a half years - since March 2012. “In almost all episodes, a stun gun, undressing, lifting into a room without video cameras and a technique of blows that leaves no traces,” the head of Agora notes. For each of the known facts, he adds, the prisoners and their lawyers turned to the TFR, but criminal cases were not initiated.

In particular, Chikov mentions the beating of the "swamp prisoners" by Sergei Krivov and Denis Lutskevich in April of this year. In the same month, the police officer was beaten by the anti -fascist Alexei Sutuga. A year earlier, members of the autonomous combat terrorist organization Ivan Astashin and Maxim Ivanov were subjected to the beatings in the convoy premises of the court.

Among the other convicted actions of the convoy are the defendant of the case of murders on the basis of hatred Emelyan Nikolaev, the half -brother of the famous actor Arthur Smolyaninov. The convoy was beaten by a number of defendants in this case, including a minor. In October 2012, nationalists, led by Nikolai Korolev, sentenced to a life sentence for an explosion in the Cherkizovsky market in 2006, announced a hunger strike in protest against beatings.

Then, in October 2012, Yusup Temerkhanov was also beaten, later found guilty of the murder of retired Colonel Yuri Budanov. As the lawyer of the accused Murad Musaev reported, Temerkhanov was introduced into the courtroom of everything beaten - with a broken nose, swimming eye, swollen arms and legs. Musaev suspected that his client was also broken by his ribs. As it turned out, Temerkhanov was beaten with their feet and batons three or four convoy, presumably riot police. Later, the police, according to Musaev, apologized for the actions of her employees and asked the lawyer not to insist on initiating the case, promising that this would not happen about Temerhanov.

The last time, mentioned by Chikov in the statement, is the beating of the former Chechen policeman Timur Idalov. In 2003, Idalov was convicted of organizing a gang engaged in theft and extortion, and in 2012 he won the case against Russia in the Grand Chamber of the Strasbourg Court, which found the state guilty of all complaints. Last Saturday, August 3, the escorts knocked Idalov on the floor and beat with fists and berets.

This is not the first complaint of Chikov filed by the Moscow prosecutor about the illegal actions of the police. At the end of July, he turned to Kudeneev with a statement by the facts of law enforcement officers against participants in peaceful demonstrations. The decision made on this complaint was not reported.
