12 out of 13 members of the electoral committee voted for this decision, one voted against.
“The results of the elections cannot be recognized as reliable. The Territorial Electoral Commission takes into account that significant voting violations may serve as grounds for declaring the election illegal. Based on the foregoing, I propose to take the following decision: to recognize the election results as invalid, ” Interfax quotes Tatiana Gladkikh, chairman of the regional election committee.
The Central Election Commission on the eve recommended to cancel the voting results due to violations and falsifications. Some experts opposed the cancellation, calling for a recalculation of the results at a number of sites. Communist Party candidate Andrey Ishchenko intends to appeal in court the election committee's decision to cancel the results.
Earlier, the Central Election Commission published data on the calculation of 100% of the voting protocols for the head of Primorsky Krai - United Russia candidate Andrei Tarasenko scored 49.55%, and his rival from the Communist Party Andrei Ishchenko 48.06%. At the same time, according to the results of the calculations, Tarasenko lost 95% of the votes to the candidate from the Communist Party. The situation changed after the TECs processed 99.16% of the protocols - it turned out that some polling stations voted 100% for the candidate of the ruling party. The candidates accused each other of fraud.
Andrey Tarasenko remains acting governor of the Primorsky Territory. New elections are due in three months.
