Unknown sent bombs to Obama, Clintons, Soros, and CNN

US law enforcement intercepted several bombs that were directed at the White House, former US President Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton and billionaire George Soros. Due to a bomb threat, the building with the CNN office in New York was evacuated.

The US Secret Service released an official statement in which it said that its employees intercepted two suspicious packages that were sent to Hillary Clinton and Obama. A package that was supposed to be delivered to the home of Bill and Hillary Clinton in a suburb of New York was intercepted the night before, and the package for Obama was already on October 24 in Washington.

During a mandatory check, the parcels were immediately identified as possible explosive devices. The Secret Service assures that the recipients were safe, as dangerous packages would not have been delivered to them.

CNN reports that intelligence agencies also intercepted explosives aimed at the White House. According to the channel, all the bombs were functional, although their design was primitive. At the same time, due to the threat of mining, the building where the CNN office is located had to be evacuated.

On October 22, a parcel with a bomb to George Soros was discovered by one of the employees of his residence. He carried the explosive device to a safe distance and called the police. The billionaire was not at home at the time. According to The New York Times , the explosives intercepted on October 24 are similar to those sent to the patron.

From 1978 to 1995, former mathematician Theodore Kaczynski, nicknamed the Unabomber by the American press, mailed 16 explosive devices. His targets were universities and airlines, which, according to Kaczynski, had a negative impact on humanity. The Unabomber action killed 3 people and injured 23. Kaczynski was captured in 1996 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
