The agencies sent warnings to Google about the inadmissibility of violating Russian election laws - the warnings are related to Alexei Navalny's calls not to vote for people who supported the pension reform.
"We are talking about Navalny purchasing, according to our information, Google's advertising tools to post information on YouTube about a mass event that is political in nature. We have informed Google that such events during the election campaign will entail “This represents a massive violation of election legislation, since conducting election campaigning on election day and the day before is prohibited,” said CEC member Alexander Klyukin, as reported by Vedomosti .
The Central Election Commission notified Google that interference by foreign companies in the electoral process in any form is not allowed and will be regarded as a violation of Russian law and interference in the elections. Similar warnings to Google were issued by Roskomnadzor, the Prosecutor General's Office and the FAS.
Earlier, Navalny's blog posted a post about the opening of a website dedicated to pension reform in Russia, "Pension robbery: what to do." In particular, one can download leaflets calling for people to come to the protest against changing the retirement age on September 9, as well as get information "for "who exactly should not be voted for under any circumstances" - this refers to candidates who supported the pension reform. The rally against changes to the pension legislation planned for September 9 by Navalny's supporters was not approved by the Moscow authorities.
