Yaroslav Belousov was released

Yaroslav Belousov, one of those convicted in the "Case of Eight", was released from SIZO No. 2 of the Stavropol Territory in Pyatigorsk. Belousov became the first of those sentenced to real terms in this case, whose term of stay in places of detention has ended. In February, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow found him guilty of participating in mass riots allegedly taking place on Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012, and of using violence against a government official and sentenced him to two and a half years in prison. In June, the Moscow City Court reduced his sentence by three months, taking into account serious vision problems. The defense filed a petition for the parole of Belousov, but before this petition was considered, a little more than a month before his release, Belousov was transferred to the Stavropol Territory, where he is registered. In an interview with the Dozhd TV channel, Belousov, who was released from the pre-trial detention center, said that due to the fact that his health deteriorated during the transfer, human rights activists asked the Commissioner for Human Rights to leave him in the pre-trial detention center until the end of his term and not send him to a colony.
